„Vienna, oh Vienna, only you alone“ – World Capital of Music
For so many years Vienna has been the venue for a variety of classical Mozart concerts in the unique ambience of beautiful, historic & breathtaking locations in the legendary Viennese city center. Just like countless other musicians & composers, Mozart was passionate about living and composing in Vienna....
- Mozart meets Vienna…
It is said that the master of classical music spent the happiest time of his life in Vienna, where he enjoyed great prestige as a composer, pianist and music teacher. At the tender age of 10, Mozart, affectionately known as "Wolferl", was already considered a child prodigy. He spent the last ten years of his young life in Vienna (where he passed away in 1791), the city that inspired him to write many of his world-famous masterpieces. And that list is a long one... "The Marriage of Figaro", the unfinished Requiem, "The Magic Flute", "Don Giovanni", "A Little Night Music", to name just a few. In total, his extensive repertoire included operas, symphonies, string quartets, piano concertos and also church music, among many others.
One fact, one number, one genius: 626.
In fact, the master of classical music created 626 (!) compositions in his lifetime, an incredible record. As Goethe perfectly accurately put it:
„A phenomenon like Mozart always remains a miracle
that is impossible to unravel.“
... And where can Mozart fans listen to his masterpieces in 2023?
