Requiem (KV 626)

W. A. Mozart's Requiem is one of the most moving works that classical music has to offer. The appealing fascination surrounding this masterpiece is further enhanced by the many myths associated with Mozart's last composition. The Requiem carries the strong emotions that come over people in the face of death: fear, anger, despair, sadness, hope, comfort.

In the historical and acoustically fascinating atmosphere of the famous St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, you will also fall under the spell of Mozart's Requiem.

The concerts will take place on the 31st. of Ctober and on the 2nd of November 2024.

Additionally, there is going to be a concert on the night from 4 to 5 December at 00:00.  Because this night is the night when Mozart died of "hot frieselfever" in Vienna in 1791. Every year on this occasion the Night Requiem, which ends with a solemn procession and the ringing of the death bell approximately at the minute of the composer's death (5 December 1791, 0:55am), represents an atmospheric highlight in the concert calendar of St. Stephen's Cathedral.

Concert lasts for 60 minutes, without intermission.

How to get there?

Take the subway line U1 or U3 to the station Stephansplatz, the elevator or escalator will take you directly in front of the magnificent St. Stephen's Cathedral.
