The Vienna Residence Orchestra is a chamber orchestra rich in tradition, reviving the wonderful works of the Viennese Classic with authentic interpretation. The orchestra was once founded by pianist and conductor Paul Moser and his wife Sylvia Moser. The renowned ensemble of the Vienna Residencec Orchestra still performs the best musical masterpieces of Mozart & Strauss to this day. In 1991, the orchestra was the official representative of Austria at the Mozart memorial celebrations and also played numerous concerts at the "Wiener Klangbogen" festival.
The orchestra ensemble, which has been under the artistic direction of Giuseppe Montesano since 2017, consists of ballet dancers from the Vienna State Opera and Volksoper as well as renowned opera singers. In order to make the flair of the concert evening even more imperial, the ensemble performs all dressed up in historical costumes.

The splendid Auersperg Palace with its magnificent private park has been the home of the Vienna Residence Orchestra since its foundation. The baroque Palace inspired Richard Strauss to create his famouss opera "Der Rosenkavalier". It was built in 1706 by Giovanni Christiano Neupauer according to plans created by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. The building was eventually passed to the Auersperg princely family in 1777. Since then it has been an important meeting place for the European aristocracy as well as for important political meetings.
